Caistor Grammar SchoolSportsCup Final Day for CGS

Cup Final Day for CGS

Our Year 8 boys have done fantastically well to reach the Final of the English Schools Football Association Small School’s Cup.  They acquitted themselves very well against an extremely impressive Downend Technology College, Bristol team and in the end Downend won 2-0.

Their commitment, resilience, and resolve however won many friends at the extraordinary Madejski Stadium, Reading.  Our Goalkeeper, Joe Laverick, was awarded “Man of the Match”.  Thanks go to Team Manager Mr Andrew Shutes, Head of PE, Assistant Manager Mr Dave Shepherd, and Team Physio/Support Mr Ian Johns and Mr Jack Goudie.  We are also extremely grateful to Mr and Mrs Trevor Grayson for sponsoring the team coach and to Mr John Fowler, President of the Lincolnshire Football Association for his ongoing support of the team.

We are very grateful to all of those students, family and friends who made the long journey to Reading to support our boys.  They were magnificent.  All in all it was a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
