On Friday 9th September 2016 five teams of students from Year 12 embarked upon their Silver Practice Expedition in the Lincolnshire Wolds.
The teams started from various locations on the edge of the Wolds and walked differing routes which they had planned themselves to reach their campsite for night one at Stainton le Vale. The weather during day 1 was excellent, with plenty of cloud and a little sun and wind.
Day 2 consisted of each group walking to their 2nd campsite. The students woke up to pouring rain and had to pack away their tents and set off on their journey in extremely miserable weather. The rain continued all day and the students were well and truly wet on arriving at their next campsite.
On Day 3 the sun shone which lifted the student’s spirits and gave them the opportunity to complete their expedition in lovely weather.
Congratulations should go to all the students who completed their practice expedition in such challenging conditions.
The Assessed Expedition will take place in two weeks time in the Derbyshire Dales.
