Friday 14th February saw the departure of 44 students and 6 staff members to the ski resort of Passo Tonale, Italy. This was the first time Caistor Grammar School has run a trip to this area and what an excellent destination it proved to be. The area is well geared towards beginners and intermediates and with a large number of students having never skied before it was a perfect match.
The weather was mixed, the accommodation decent, the food fabulous and the experience one to remember. Everyone improved their skiing and enjoyed their time in Italy. There were lots of laughs, a few injuries and plenty of pizza and “gelato.”
Well done to Megan Harding and Declan Bell for winning our Skier of the Week awards and Lucie Smith can also be pleased with herself for winning the Best Wipeout award.
My thanks go to the following teachers; Michael Robinson, Dave Shepherd and Louise Triggs for their support as well as Gregor Maxwell for his skiing expertise and Sue Noel-Hiles for her medical assistance.
