AS and A2 Art was exhibited in the wonderful setting of the Old Hall of the school last week. Parents and students were impressed and proud to experience the skills and knowledge of their colleagues. A major part of the show was the sketchbook placed by each exhibit.
“This charts the journey from ideas and inspiration through lots of drawing and design trials and development. The clarity with which a student shares this with a viewer is and important way of getting a good mark.” commented Head of Art Ailsa Wish.
If you missed the show the Art work will be on show in various locations around the school over the next few months before being returned to students anxious to keep their work for posterity. Natasha Crosbie is particularly keen to have her art work back. She says it is a great way to do coursework as it is very personal. Her striking image of a cat exploring his home patch is her own pet. Her cat may not be around for ever but this way he is remembered as he is now.
