On the evening of July 22nd, two students, Sarah Clark (10Y) and Evie Bainbridge (9Z), shaved off all of their hair in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and Iris Global. Their hair was plated and cut off to send to the Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to illness.
Sarah wanted to do this because she lost her Auntie to Cancer in October 2012 and she had a lot of help and support form Macmillan during the time she was ill. Evie wanted her half of the money to go to Iris Global, as she met Heidi Baker, who is the driving force behind the organisation and Evie was inspired by her amazing work which helps thousands every day.
They have raised an amazing £3000, £1200 of which has come from pupils and staff at the school throughout the course of the Summer Term.
They are both really glad that they have done this as they know that 2 children somewhere will have new hair thanks to the wigs made from their much loved locks.
