Gifted and Talented Workshop with Oxford University, Thursday 16th October

Posted on 4th November 2019

Y10 and Y11 students attended an English Literature tutorial and workshop today as part of a gifted and talented outreach scheme which aims to give pupils a ‘taster’ for study at Oxford University.   Based on aspects of the comic genre, DPhil students inspired pupils with a whistle stop tour of comedy from 5th century BCE Komody (KOMOS meaning ‘noisy happy procession’ and ODY meaning ‘song’) to the present day as they explored the enduring nature of humour and its roots in tragedy.
