After several lengthy updates from me, I thought I would keep this weekly newsletter short. Work will now have been set. Form tutors will be in touch with all of the students in their tutor group next week to ensure that everything is going well and that there are no significant concerns.
I have no further information about when schools will, and in what form, return. It seems that some form of social distancing will be necessary and we are planning for that eventuality. In the meantime, the advice remains the same about following lockdown guidelines to ensure the rate of infection is reduced. Similarly, it is important to ensure that regular hand washing is second nature.
Mr Hay has sent out a lot of information to the current Year 12 students about the UCAS application programme this week. Various UCAS events have had to be cancelled. It is therefore important that students are forward thinking about applying for university, gaining as much information as possible. To help support discussions at home, I am including a link to a PowerPoint from UCAS (also sent to students) that explains the process. It can be accessed.
Three useful web sites that have been recommended to me are:
I hope you find them of some use.
I cancelled our open evening in May before Easter. I have tentatively pencilled in a new event for early July. However, just in case social distancing makes that impossible, our redesigned school prospectus can now be downloaded from the school website. Please can you direct anyone who is considering making an application to join us is September 2021 to view the prospectus. The application process for the entrance exam will be online and I’ll let you know more about that process in the next fortnight so you can let others know.
