Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award Assessed Expedition – White Peak Derbyshire

Posted on 1st October 2014

The Caistor Grammar School DofE Assessed Expedition started on Saturday 27th September 2014 at 7am when 24 Year 12 students boarded their mini buses to travel to Eyam in Derbyshire.

Five separate groups walked their own planned routes from Eyam to Monsal Head Campsite where they spent the night recovering and preparing for their second day’s walk from Monsal Head to Monyash.  All five groups finished their expedition at Hassop Railway Station on the Monsal Trail (just outside of Bakewell) on Monday afternoon.

Congratulations to all 24 students!

Take a look at our DofE Notice Board to see photos and routes walked by the groups!

Many thanks to our Volunteer Supervisors, Mr Lawrence Brown, Mr Norman Palmer and Mrs Angela Palmer, Mr Mick Hoare, Mrs Anna Sharp and Mrs Linda Patrick.   Thanks also to Mr Dave Moffat and Mrs Linda Moffat for their excellent supporting coordinating role and our Assessors Mr Phillip Smith and Dr Dan Wilton, as well as to the overall coordinator, Mrs Jo Hoare.
