There was much celebration today at Caistor Grammar School, when Baroness Sue Campbell, Chair of UK Sport and Youth Sport Trust, officially opened the School’s new Olympic Torch Building.
Its name comes from the remarkable fact that no fewer than five then current Caistor Grammar School students carried the Olympic Torch last summer and one of them lit the Olympic Couldron. They are Jordan Duckitt (Cauldron Lighter), Alice Kaye, Thomas Paine, Kate Pattison and Joseph Hewitt. All five of them were present to see the naming of the Building.
Headmaster, Roger Hale, said “We are really proud of our new beautiful building and thank everyone involved in this celebration. Its naming will, we hope, inspire a generation of Caistor Grammar School students to excel and contribute in our community.”
Baroness Sue Campbell praised the School for its record of success as a Sports College in the past.
