Year 7 recently visited the famous Christian pilgrimage site of Walsingham.
We began our journey by meeting Brother Robert and visiting the Catholic Shrine, including the slipper chapel. Once we had walked in the footsteps of Henry VIII, we continued on to the Anglican Shrine, along the pilgrim walk of the Holy Mile.
The Anglican Shrine was an opportunity to study the Stations of the Cross, enter the replica Nazareth House and partake in the ‘Sprinkling’ service, where students were given the opportunity (if they wished) of drinking the Holy Water from the well of Walsingham.
A big thank you to Year 7, who were excellent throughout and to all staff and helpers who made the visit possible.
