The History Curriculum covers a range of topics at Key Stage 3, including Britain from 1066 to 1945, the Slave Trade, the Roman Empire, and First and Second World Wars. At Key Stage 4, students follow OCR’s Modern World Course, covering International Relations 1919-45, Britain 1890-1918 and America from 1919-41. They take two examinations and complete one controlled assessment task. At A-level, we follow the AQA specifications, which cover Britain from 1815-1915 and Russia from 1801-1945. Students complete two examinations at the end of Year 12 for their AS course, and one further exam plus a piece of coursework in Year 13 for the A2 course.
