On the morning of Friday 24th June, English students embarked on a poignant and inspirational journey throughout France and Belgium to experience some of the lasting memorials to WWI.
One week before the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, the students found themselves experiencing British, French and German memories from WWI and the aftermath. The trip took in the Last Post at the Menin Gate in Ypres, the Thiepval monument and the Wellington Quarry at Arras. The students involved were a credit to their school throughout, and gained valuable insight into the era for their A level studies.
