Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Expedition Practice A

Posted on 12th April 2016

The weekend of 9th and 10th April saw Caistor Grammar School’s first DofE Expedition of the season.

30 Bronze Award students experienced their first taste of expeditioning when they successfully completed their Bronze Practice in the Lincolnshire Wolds.  The weekend saw a challenging mix of weather; rain, sun and a heavy overnight frost.  Most students seemed to enjoy the weekend! Many lessons were learned including what not to pack, how to put a tent up successfully, and how to try and keep warm in sub zero temperatures.

DSCN4447The large number of Bronze Award participants this year has meant the Bronze Expeditions will be spread out over 4 weekends during the forthcoming weeks: 2 Practice and 2 Assessed Expeditions.

Once again the School is very grateful to our team of adult volunteer supervisors who gave their time up to make the weekend such a great success.
