Year 7 students are heading off to the Newlands Adventure Centre today to participate in our annual residential trip. Activities will include ghyll scrambling, high ropes, canoeing/kayaking, field games and walking. Thank you to the following members of staff for giving up their weekend: Mr Frost, Mr Smy, Mrs Taylor, Mr Moloney, Mr Croft, Mr Bathel, Mrs Sharp, Mrs Leaning and Miss Turner, who arranged the weekend. The group returns on Sunday evening.
There is a change to next year’s calendar. The early May Bank Holiday has been moved to Friday 8 May to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe. The school calendar will be updated when we receive official notice from the local authority.
Our former students and teachers’ association, the Caistorians, currently has 497 members, three short of the 500 milestone. Several current students have parents, aunts, uncles, etc. who attended the School. Please encourage them to join up – it’s absolutely free. On Saturday 28 June, from 10am to 4pm, there will be a Caistorian Day at School. All Caistorians are welcome to attend. Weather dependent, you will be welcome to have a picnic on the terraces. Please email the School’s Outreach coordinator if you would like to know more about joining up or the Saturday event. Email: Katherine.firstname.lastname@example.org
If School sends home a student because they have been sick, it is important to keep that child at home for 24 hours to ensure that they are bug-free when they return to us. It helps to keep sickness at bay.
Well done to Vignesh Kamath (Year 11) who has been offered a place at the UKMT Mathematics Summer School 2019 as a result of his exceptionally strong performance on the Intermediate Maths Olympiad.
We are currently looking to employ a Data Manager and Academic Administrator. Details can be found on the School website on the vacancies page. The closing date is Friday 28 June.
With best wishes,
