Headmaster’s Letter 1st July

Posted on 1st July 2022

Dear Parent,

Getting ready for the new school year

We welcomed our new students into school, who will be starting in September, this week at either end of the School. Please be aware of the following updates for next school year’s uniform:

Superzone Athletics

Sixty athletes headed back to the King George V stadium for their Superzone athletics meet on Tuesday. The students were outstanding throughout the day. Their conduct and performances were exemplary. Isaac Waterhouse (Y9) is worthy of mention. He chose to give his winner’s medal to another competitor who was winning their 1500m race and tripped shortly before the finishing line. A wonderful sporting gesture!

The team results are as follows:

Year 7 girls – 1st

Year 7 boys – 1st

Year 8 girls – 3rd

Year 8 boys joint 2nd

Year 9 girls – 3rd

Year 9 boys 2nd

Year 10 girls – Joint 1st

Year 10 boys – 2nd

Overall – 1st by 7 points!

This is a very close margin which underlines the determination the whole squad demonstrated.

Caistor Drama Group – Pantomime

The town’s drama group is looking for new members to take part in their pantomime which premieres at the town hall in December. The group have been presenting a pantomime at the start of December each year for 30 years, and they’re always keen to include as many young people as possible – whether in the chorus or in principal boy / girl roles.

Sessions have been arranged for anyone interested in joining the panto: for those aged up to 14, at the Town Hall this evening from 6:30pm onwards. For those aged 14 and over, at the Town Hall on Friday 8th July at 7:30pm. Adults are very welcome too.
