Thank you for recently completing and returning the biometric consent and data collection forms. The biometric consent form and the email address on your data collections forms were required to register your child for cashless catering in the Dining Hall and to make online payments to top up your child’s cashless catering account respectively.
If you have not submitted these forms, please could you do so by Friday 26th May. All forms should be sent to the School Office.
Cashless Catering & Biometric Consent
I am pleased to announce that from Monday 12th June the canteen will become cashless. The new cashless catering equipment in the dining hall will deduct the appropriate payment from your online account at the tills when your child’s thumb print is read by a Biometric Reader. The system will automatically allocate Free School Meal allowances to all students eligible for Free School Meals.
We have also installed a coin and note loading machine in the Dining Hall which your child can use to top up their school meals account, should you wish.
Charge up Online Accounts for the Cashless Catering System, via ParentMail
Alongside the cashless catering system we now have a ParentMail app ‘Caistor Grammar School’, which is available to download on the Apple and Android app stores. A website version is also available if you are unable to access the Apple or Android app stores. The website link will be provided in your registration email.
The preferred email address, provided on your data collection sheet, will be used to set up your ParentMail account, from which you can top-up your child’s cashless catering account.
You will receive a registration invitation by email on Friday 19th May. Please click on the link from the email and follow the verification process. You will be asked to enter some details, answer a security question to verify your identity and you will then be asked to create a password for your account.
Please be assured that ParentMail is registered with the Information Commissioner and guarantees that all information you provide will be kept private and will not be passed on to any other organisation.
Lockers are going to be installed across the school site over the summer holidays, ready for the new academic year. The lockers are a large heavy duty weather-proof version which will mean that students can accommodate a school bag and a sports bag. The lockers are secured by a combination lock, which students can set. In the event of a student forgetting their number, site staff will have a master key. To cover some of the costs of the lockers, we will be charging a hire fee of £6 per locker per year, payable in advance for Years 7-11.
Once your ParentMail account has been set up, you will be able to make your payment for a locker online. Eligible Pupil Premium students will not be charged for a school locker.
Future Plans for ParentMail
We intend to roll out additional features of ParentMail over the coming months, to include for example, online payments for school trips, and purchasing of stationery items and revision books in the Library Shop. Further details will follow in due course. We will also be enabling parents to book their parents’ evening appointments via Parent Mail.
If you have any queries regarding these matters, please do not hesitate to contact me on Claire.firstname.lastname@example.org.
