Lincoln’s Drill Hall was the venue for this year’s celebration of all things spoken word as Lincolnshire’s prestigious Slam Jam 2013 reached the grand final stage; Caistor Grammar were ably represented by year 11 students Natasha Francis and Beth Laverick. The standard of performance this year was exceptionally high, with young people from schools all across Lincolnshire performing monologues and poems on a range of subjects, ranging from the serious (an imagined account of dealing with anorexia nervosa) to the less so (a paean to the joys of crumpets, toast and all things bread-based).
