The Friends of Caistor Grammar School have had another successful year with their summer raffle. They have raised a total of £2377.50. Of this, Mr Hargreaves’ form 7Z, raised £639.00. Their prize: the famous wheelbarrow of chocolate.
Many local businesses and companies donated to the fund and we are very grateful for the support that they give the friends and our students. For instance, Woodthorpe Leisure Park donated a short break for two in their new glamping pods.
As well as purchasing a new piano for the music department, the Friends have also given enough money to purchase a class set of 17 microscopes.
The Friends do a great deal for the School. With the monies raised through the raffle, last year’s quiz, Gift Aid claims and refreshments and donations from parents’ evenings, they have also funded a new sound system for the gym and books for all of the incoming Y7s. Parents’ donations really do make a difference to the students and I for one know that we are very fortunate to have such loyal supporters as the Friends.
They will be taking a break over the summer but I understand that they are already planning for next year. If you would like to become involved please email the School on email@example.com .
