Year 8 students enjoyed a very hot and sunny afternoon at Willingham Woods carrying out a challenging Orienteering course. They did extremely well and impressed many adults who were enjoying the afternoon sunshine, in particular the lady at the Kiosk, who said that they were the most polite students she had every encountered. Praise indeed!
Mr Frost (Head of Mathematics) said: “The trip was a resounding success. It was fantastic to see the 91 students in year 8 enjoying the countryside and the sunshine, getting slightly lost, but most of all applying the mathematics skills they have learnt over the last few weeks!.”The winning individual team were Charlie Bowtle, Harry Craig and Stan Brown who completed the course in an amazing time of 34 minutes and 40 seconds.
Thanks go to Mr Chris Frost, Head of Maths, and Mr Michael Robinson, Head of Year 7, for organising the occasion with lots of support from the rest of the Maths Department and other colleagues.
