Year 9 History Balloon Debate

Posted on 19th March 2018

It was a hotly fought History Balloon Debate this year as part of Upstanding Day. Nine finalists elected by their peers from their form heats, delivered memorable speeches as their chosen historical characters vied for a place in a sinking hot air balloon. The reward of House Points for the winning trio and a cup at Awards Evening for first place hung in the balance. Students showcased their speaking skills, powers of persuasion and aptitude in delivering well crafted arguments for their character’s historical significance and the deconstruction of the other remaining characters. Mr. Hopkins and Mrs. Dowthwaite were impressed by the high standard. Congratulations to all our finalists
