Year 9 have enjoyed a very memorable and moving visit to the National Holocaust Centre at Tuxford, near Newark. It is called Beth Shalom which means “House of Peace”. Students received an introductory talk, toured an exhibition, visited the memorial garden and then heard a moving presentation by a survivor or Auschwitz, Iby Krill, who is 91. Below are some pictures of the visit. One of the special things students experienced was laying a stone at a special remembrance of the 1½ million Jewish children who were killed in the Holocaust.
