Over the weekend of May 17th and 18th 42 Year 10 students in 6 teams, completed their assessed expedition in the Lincolnshire Wolds. This was the culmination of many months of training to give them the skills they need to plan, undertake and navigate a 24 kilometre walk over 2 days with an overnight camp.
The students were completely self sufficient, carrying everything they would need, from food to tents. The weather was very kind but the warm weather made the walk even more demanding. Spirits remained high and everyone enjoyed the night’s camping, cooking the evening meal and relaxing in the sunshine.
The teams packed away their tents in the morning and set off on the second day of walking. Amazingly, everyone was off the campsite by 8am. By the end of the day everyone had completed their expedition successfully and the independent assessors were full of praise for the skills and positive spirit of the teams.
