Sunday 4th September 2016 saw our Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award students attending their preparatory Expedition Training Day at Navigation Lane Sports Field.
The students, in their Expedition groups, rotated through a number of workshops run by our DofE volunteers. These workshops focused on First Aid, Navigation, Rucksack Packing and Fitting, their Expedition Aim, and Food and Nutrition. The students also practiced pitching and packing away their tents and preparing a hot meal at lunchtime.
We were fortunate again to have excellent weather and by the end of the day all of the students were confident and really looking forward to their Practice and Assessed Expeditions later this month.
Thanks once again to all our volunteers for making the day such a success.
