A new Homework Timetable
Following considerable consultation with students about the issue of homework, we have decided to introduce a Homework Timetable for students in Years 7, 8 and 9 and revised homework guidelines for all students and parents. We are sending these home to you because the role of parents in providing students with a place to carry out homework, monitoring their completion of it, and, at times, providing support with it, is a very important one. We do hope that you will be able to support our new approach, which we think has a considerable amount of approval from our students.
We will be having the public performance for our House plays on the evening of Wednesday 5th March at 7pm in Caistor Town Hall. All three Junior House plays will be performed and the winning Senior House play. All that is missing now is the audience and we do warmly invite all parents to come along and support this always very entertaining event. There will be no charge for entry but there will be a raffle.
Design and Technology Exhibition
Our annual exhibition of Design and Technology work will be taking place from 3rd March to 7th March with GCSE, AS and A2 work on display. Our thanks go to the Design and Technology Department for helping the students to create this. Parents and friends of the School are invited to visit the exhibition in the Old Hall on Wednesday 5th March from 5 – 7pm.
Recent trips abroad
You can visit our school website on www.caistorgrammar.com to see pictures of our recent trips to Russia and Italy (ski trip). We hope that pictures from our Homestay trip to Paris will follow before long. I am very grateful to my colleagues who supported these trips since they are a wonderful enhancement of our School curriculum. Thanks go to Mr Marcus Croft, Head of History, for organising the trip to Russia, to Mr Tom Smith, Head of Computing, for organising the ski trip and to Mr Andy Holland, Head of French, for organising the French Homestay trip. The behaviour of the students on all three trips was exemplary and they were a delight to be with.
Please support our Friends’ Quiz Evening
The Friends of Caistor Grammar School have organised a Quiz Night on Friday 14th March at Grasby Village Hall, Grasby. This is always an enjoyable occasion so please try to come along and support us. Tickets cost £6 which includes a supper and there is a licensed bar available. The tickets are available from the School Office and money should be sent to school in an envelope marked “Friends’ Quiz Tickets”. Please make cheques payable to the “Friends of Caistor Grammar School”.
With very best wishes
