Once your child has received an official offer of a place at Caistor Grammar School, we will begin our process of transition.
We will initially make contact via the email address with which you applied, so please check that email address for any communication.
After an initial welcome letter from the Headteacher, we will be asking you to complete a data collection form and we will share with you our induction pack, with key information on the school day, equipment, uniform and school transport. The induction pack will also be made available on this page of the website.
We will also send out an information request form for your child to complete. We use this to help us to get to know your child and create the Year 7 Form Groups.
Your child will also be visited at their Primary School by a member of the Senior Leadership Team or the Pastoral Team. We aim to start visits at the beginning of May and continue into June and arrange these directly with the Primary School. We may be visiting over 50 schools across a wide area, so please bear with us in this process.
If your child requires more support with transition, due to SEN or other additional needs, we will make contact with you to arrange this.
You child will attend a transition day on either the 23rd or 24th June 2026. We check with Primary Schools their availability for those days and all students from the same Primary School will be invited on the same day. We will share the date with you as soon as we are able.
On the transition day, students will have the chance to experience a variety of lessons, a school lunch and a lunchtime club. The day will end with meeting a Year 7 tutor and an opportunity to ask any questions.
There will be an Information Evening on the 24th June 2026 for parents and students. You will hear from the Headteacher, Deputy Head and Head of Lower School on key aspects of the school. We will also be available to answer queries directly from you.
